Join a local guide such as Gio, Edgar, or Miel for four hours of tacos, six Mexican cocktails, and spirit lessons in Old Town Puerto Vallarta. You’ll visit family-run eateries, street stands, and bars while tasting tequila, mezcal, pulque, and raicilla in a group capped at 10.

“Our tour guide was awesome! Even though there were just three of us it wasn’t a lessened experience. We went to several local places deep in the town. Learned a lot and ate some amazing tacos. One place we went back to the next day. Be prepared to partake and enjoy! It doesn’t seem like a lot of alcohol but we were um, relaxed and all in. The stop at the 40 yr old churro stand was a perfect touch to some local food. Delish!! Be prepared to walk on uneven surfaces and cobblestone streets. Wear comfortable shoes and if you are mobility challenged or have handicap accessibility needs this…”

Private ATV tour with waterfall and Tequila tasting

3.Private ATV tour with waterfall and Tequila tasting

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 892 reviews · 3 hours (approx.) · from $95

Spend about three hours riding an ATV through mountain roads, creek crossings, villages, and Sierra Madre viewpoints with guides such as Uriel, Roberto, Chema, or Sergio. Stop at Rancho Las Pilas for a swim, then visit Rancho Mi Abuelo for food, tortilla making, margaritas, and a tequila tasting.

“While the people were nice, one of the reasons for booking this atv rode versus the others were the waterfall and unfortunately, we did not see any water fall and no stops for photo ops. It was a standard ride to a tequila tasting and tortilla making and a stop at an expensive restaurant.”

Finca 18 Puerto Vallarta Tequila Tour + Chocolate Pairing

4.Finca 18 Puerto Vallarta Tequila Tour + Chocolate Pairing

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 393 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $89Best value

Visit Finca 18, a 12-acre family ranch near Puerto Vallarta, with guides such as Greg, Mario, Alex, and Emily. Learn how agave spirits are made, walk through the nursery and fields, then taste five or more small-batch pours with chocolate, guacamole, and ranch-made snacks.

“I booked this tour because I wanted to actually see an agave field and the process of making "tequila". This was part of my 40th birthday celebration. This was an amazing experience. Beau and Mario were amazing! They were knowledgeable and personable which made the whole experience that much more meaningful. On top of all of that, the tasting experience was amazing. They have a lot of really good spirits they are working on. I love the fact that no two batches are the exact same. Looking forward to going back again to try their next round of spirits.”
